2002 Southern California Probability Symposium

The 2002 Southern California Probability Symposium will be held at UCLA on Sunday, December 8, 2002. Lectures and refreshments will be in the IPAM (Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics) building. Organizers are Tom Liggett and Roberto Schonmann.

Notes

Directions: Take the Wilshire exit from I405, heading East. Go East on Wilshire a few blocks to Westwood. Go North on Westwood into the campus. There is a parking/information kiosk on the median of Westwood Blvd. Stop there to get a parking permit. Ask to park in lot 9. If you have a UC parking permit, parking should be free. Otherwise, it costs $7. To reach the IPAM building, go to the elevator at the East end of lot 9, and go up to the top level. Walk North through the Court of Sciences, passing between the Mathematical Sciences Building and Franz Hall. You will see the IPAM building directly in front of you.

Reception: Following the talks, there will be a reception (beverages and snacks) at the home of Tom and Chris Liggett. All participants are invited. The Liggett home is not far from the intersection of I10 and I405, so it is easy to get there from UCLA, and easy to get back on the freeway afterwards. Directions will be provided at the meeting. We are not making any formal dinner plans. Participants who wish to get together for dinner can make arrangements at the reception.
